Additional Information : | The remains of this unidentified man were found on Lake Huron Beach, north of Nine Mile River in Goderich. In the month prior to this death, a freelance journalist took photos of the man and spoke with him. According to the reporter, the name identified himself as “Mitchell Nelson” and said that he was on his way to London to visit family and friends. Mitchell said that his journey started in Edmonton, Alberta and most of it had been on foot. He planned to pull his canoe to the eastern shore of Manitoulin Island and to cross Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. His body was located ashore at Port Albert. His cause of death was drowning. It is unclear if the bicycle or canoe have been located. |
