Additional Information : | On October 11th, Neil came home from work with a friend. His wife and he had an argument so his friend left. Neil then went out after supper. According to the police investigation, Neil went from his home to the Commercial Hotel in Ayton. Neil met someone at the hotel and the two left to meet a co-worker who was having marital trouble to an unknown location. Neil later returned to the hotel and left at closing time. He left the hotel between 1:30 a.m and 1:40 a.m. Neil was last seen alive leaving a residence on Edmund Street in Ayton. Neil’s 1979 GMC pickup was located the following day near Ayton. While he did not smoke, the ashtray was filled with a number of different brands of cigarette butts. His bank accounts and credit cards have not been accessed since his disappearance. Foul play is strongly suspected. Neil was legally declared dead in 1996. At the time of his disappearance, Neil was employed at Three-Way Demolition as a demolition worker. He was also employed part-time as a garbage contractor. He was also intending to adopt his stepchildren. Durham is located 45 km (28 miles) south of Owen Sound. Ayton is about 23 km (14 miles) south of Durham. |
