Additional Information : | At the time of his disappearance, John was a resident of Thorold but had left with a group of friends to attend the Renfrew County Fair in Renfrew, Ontario. As a result of an argument, John got out of the car when it was stopped at a stop sign in Eganville. His friends continued on to Renfrew. John went to the Eganville Hotel for a drink and was later met by other friends. The group stayed in the bar for a few hours. Eventually John decided to take the bus back to St. Catharines. Since the bus was not arriving until the following day, John remained at the bar for some time. Later that evening a friend of John’s asked others in the bar where John was. He was told that John had gone to the Golden Lake Reserve with two Aboriginal males. The subsequent police investigation did not firmly establish that John had actually gone to Golden Lake. However, police have conducted numerous searches in the area over the years. |
