On the day of his disappearance, John was seen leaving the Crock & Block restaurant in downtown Kitchener.

John had met a friend that evening.  The two were to meet each other again the following day.

When John did not come into work, a note was found.  The note explained that John had to leave.

At the time, John was the owner of a bakery.  He was under considerable stress due to financial difficulties.
