Additional Information : | Although Tony is a full-time resident of Toronto, he disappeared while on an outing at the Kinark Outdoor Centre located in Haliburton County. At approximately 4:30 p.m., Tony was seen sitting at the fire pit smoking cigarettes. Tony did not attend supper that evening. Realizing that he did not attend supper, the Staff went to Tony’s cabin to look for him. He was not in his cabin and Staff continued to search the area. A short time later, the OPP were called and a full scale search was begun. The search lasted several days but Tony has not been located. The Kinark Outdoor Centre is located in a densely wooded and swampy area. The terrain is uneven and hilly. The area has numerous areas that are described as ‘boggy’. The area has one inland lake known as Gray Lake. The water is a very dark ‘tea’ colour due to mineral deposits in the area. Kinark is bordered by Highway 118 to the north, Swan Road to the south, Queen’s Line to the west and Gray Lake to the east. |
