Ontario’s Missing Adults was launched in September of 2007 as a non-government organization created to focus on missing and unidentified adults.
The organization grew out of the recognition that service gaps exist at the most basic level for families who are living with the disappearance of an adult loved one. One of our goals is to help family members who are grappling with this unique situation and who have questions or need guidance. Our hope is that, by providing orientation and information, families will feel more empowered to manage the challenges they face during this time.
Our premise is that by posting cases on the internet, we will reach a greater audience – some of whom know details that can move an investigation forward. Visitors to the site are encouraged to get to know the cases. Anyone with information is asked to share it with authorities – no matter how small. It may be a key piece that leads to explaining a disappearance, or giving back someone’s name.
