Additional Information :
In the weeks prior to his disappearance, Hal had returned to live with his parents in Barrie. He had been studying at the University of Waterloo but withdrew from his studies at the beginning of month. He had been enrolled in the computer science program.

Although Hal had always excelled in school, his behaviour had begun to change while at the University of Waterloo. He had become heavily involved in online gaming. His grades dropped and he began to withdraw from family.

After returning to live with his parents, Hal was having difficulties. On February 28, 2005, Hal drove his mother to work in the family car. When she returned home, she found a note from Hal saying that he was leaving to “find himself” and that the family car was parked at a Barrie bookstore with the keys inside.

Hal took his computer and some clothes but left all of his identification at home. Since then, Hal has not contacted family or friends. The Barrie Police Service and his family would like to locate Hal to verify his well-being.
